Protagonists. What game does without a hero that we have to play, an ordinary player? Well, or unusual. Okay, I will not make a pathos introduction, and I will just start a story. Nowadays, when creating protagonists in games, two concepts are mainly adhered to: either the developers make an absolutely empty, impersonal hero, most often without a voice, or a fully prescribed character with their history and character, whose role we have to play. In the first case, the developers explain their act by the fact that in this way the player will better associate himself with the character and understand his place in the world, but, as for me, this is not entirely true. The fact is that such protagonists are created completely depersonalized, which means that we, as players, fill the empty space with our character and actions. Especially for this, the hero is deprived of a voice in addition to improve the connection with the character, and if it is also RPG, where you can configure your appearance, then in the world of the game it is almost 100% players, and his personality, and not a character of another world. Although they can give him a nickname, some kind of background or even a name, there is no getting away from the emptiness of this character. After all, playing many RPGs with such a protagonist, I have repeatedly caught myself thinking that my hero often falls out of the narrative, and if he is also dumb, it is generally similar to an autistic (yes, I still can’t move away from a dumb bailet from Fire Emblem: Three Houses). Other characters will come to the forefront from our entourage with registered characters, appearance, voice, etc.D. The disease of spinelessness and the calmness of the protagonist, mainly many Japanese games, Western shooters from the 1st person and RPG of the old school are sick, mostly isometric, and it is good that in recent years the situation has changed a bit. From games with similar protagonists, you can recall Dragon Age: Origins, Baldur’s Gates, Dragon Quest and T.D.
The second way to create a protagonist is a diametrically opposite – a fully designed character, with a pre -prescribed character and personality, which has its own unique voice, and, in some cases, has a decent baggage of the past, in the form of a background. And we will not play our character, but we play out a stranger, pre -prepared character. And, as for me, this is more interesting. After all, we like actors play the role we proposed – be it Vsevolod from Rivia or a lover of shops on the citadel. And not as in the first version, where they give us an introductory and say "improvise". Even the options for answers or elections that developers kindly provide us do not particularly affect the character of the hero, rather they allow you to feel the character more deeply. In some cases, we are free to choose the Hero behavior line as the Hero-Operational Hero at Mass Effect, but so that we do not, we will still play for Shepard, with another worldview, name and face, but still Shepard. At the same time, this type of protagonists is very remembered: both “move, roach”, and “I Shoup GO” and others. Also, the voice does his job, even more eaten into the memory of the players. Yes, I understand why the dumb protagonists love, because in some games they are done well, but I personally do not like them. Typically, such heroes are played in Bioware, where even a dumb hero, with different appearance and sex, can be a specific prescribed character, such as Revan from Kotor. As you understand, I am a supporter of the second method of creation, because when we are driven into the framework, and in very tough ones, we try to squeeze out the maximum possibilities from the character. In the same Geralt, everyone tried to bring a piece of yourself, whether to do everything, or to adhere to the canon. Yes, even the choice of his half can say something about the player and about his character, even though this. But at the same time, everyone will have its own witcher, who will become a business card in hot srach about choosing a waif.
But what if there is a third option. Which is the golden middle between these two extremes. When we can win back our character, while taking not a completely empty protagonist, but an almost full -fledged person, with his own special character traits, appearance, thinking, etc.D. In fact, this option for two sides. Want to play your character? Please. If you want to play in advance prepared? To health. Will this option satisfy everyone? Well, here it’s already lucky … either everyone will be fine, or the protagonist is a smaller and a cheeky garbage, and the game is complete x … in the sense, we will all enjoy games and get a good mood)))
There are very few such games with this kind of protagonists, and usually a series of games usually comes to mind immediately Persona. The main characters of the persons have always had amazing elaboration, given that they are silent 90% of the time, but they speak only in battle, and basically they only sigh, and shout “Person. "(And can also be called the persons by name, of which in each game of pieces of one hundred). It’s all about the language of their body, expressed in facial expressions and gestures, reactions to certain actions of other characters. Another mood and character is convey by the internal thoughts of the heroes, who serve through the descriptions of events or objects, when the protagonist interacts with them. And also the options for answers in this non -hut help so. Yes, they have little effect in terms of the plot or gameplay, but they reveal the characters’ characters deeper. For example, many answers of one hero will be reduced to “~ breathe ~” or “I Don’t Care”, while the other can pinpour or grate the interlocutor. At the same time, no one prevents you from playing your character, choosing answers to your loved ones to your liking, or choosing a waif to your taste. But at least you can’t get away from some associations with a protagonist, which is not a minus for me personally, but rather a plus. Well, there is already taste again.
I Am Thou, Thou Art I (You are me, and I am you). The phrase used in the games of the series has already become a cult and integral part of Persona. In one form or another, it is usually used to turn the person to the character that owns it, or, to a lesser extent, to turn the character to her shadow. But this phrase can be used for the association of the player and the character. Think about it, because we become a character, playing him out, and he, in turn, adopts the features of our personality, becoming us. Difficult … Something was drawn to my philosophy.
Over the years of the existence of a series, it already had many protagonists, to one degree or another suitable for the third formula for creating a character. Let’s go in order, and trace their nature and the growth of their elaboration, associated with the release of new parts, and the development of creators from Atlus of their unique way of creating protagonists. Ah, yes, and we will not forget about the arcana. Where without them?
Boy with Earring(Guy with piercing)
And the first one in line is the very first protagonist of the Persona series, this is conditionally called the “guy with piercing”, because of the characteristic earrings in the ear. Regarding the name – the protagonist has several names, since the history of the first person was retold and supplemented in different formats: manga, novel, CD Drama. And in all of them he has a different name: in the manga this is Naoi Todo (Naoya"Naorin" Toudou), In the short story – Jihai Suzakuin (Jihei"Jay" Suzakuin), And in CD Dramama – Yuya Nursi (Yuuya Narumi). But the manga is more or less canonical, therefore, the name of Naoi is more canonical, and in the future I will use it for convenience. And then calling the hero "guy with piercing" at least strange ..
In general, Naoi has a fairly bright appearance in comparison with the rest of the protagonists: black disheveled hair, brown eyes and earring in the left ear. He also uses either lip brilliance or lipstick … Okeeeeee … The creators argues this with the desire to attract a female audience. Kek. Although, so the appearance of Naoa becomes even more memorable and informal. But this feature was ignored in the manga, as well as the 2009 game remake. He is to study at the SV school. Hermelina and wears the appropriate shape, black watch on the wrist. At the time of the game, for 17 years, the height is 175 cm. Yes, what, what, with appearance, the hero came out just to match the nascent series.
What, alas, cannot be said about his character. Yes, Naoi is a silent protagonist, the roots of the creation of the characters are still with the Shin Megami Tensei series, and from there he brought with him the problems of those characters of that time – spinelessness. In addition, it is difficult to talk about the character of Naoi, given that the background may change in various works, therefore adding new “skeletons in the closet” to our hero. For example, in the manga of the protagonist there was a twin brother who died as a child, and Naoi blames himself in his death, acquiring a syndrome of surviving to his image. And in CD Drama, the hero hates himself and his character, and also has another background. But we will focus more on the game and take character characteristics from there. If we follow the correct decisions that lead to absolute persons, Naoi is shown as a born leader, a compassionate and caring personality, while with a low -emotional expression on the face, which puts the well -being of others, higher than his own. Naoi is also shown by a slightly rude and familiar person, which can be seen in a conversation with his other personality in the last Dange, where he asks Maki to shut up so that he can focus on the game, and Igor completely calls “Old Man Igor”. Perhaps these are the true feelings of Naoi, and his other personality is the shadow of the guy, showing that he does not want to let out. Maybe the real Naoi thinks, but prefers to keep quiet and not showing his true feelings to others. It is also worth noting how the guy moves in public. Despite the fact that Naoi walk in a fastened jacket, he does it rather not because he wants to avoid unnecessary attention, but because by and large he is still perceived by others. When the guy just stands, he holds his palms on his sides, leaning on one leg, which shows his relaxation and some self -confidence. In general, Naoi can be described as a calm and thoughtful young guy who prefers silence to the word, as well as as a born leader, both on the battlefield and outside of him.
Be that as it may, very little is known about the nature of the game Naoa, because he is more left here to play out his own character of the player than a specific character. He has no voice, except in the battle, where he screams and calls the person. But perhaps we will help us to understand the character of his Arcana’s guy, from the Tarot deck, namely Arkan under number 4 – Emperor. The emperor points to his father’s figure, as well as leadership qualities, which can be shown through the gameplay, where Naoi controls the satellites in battle, giving orders. Also, these characteristics of the character in one form or another are preserved in adaptations. The emperor also speaks of the determination of Naoi, about his readiness to fearlessly meet the threat and accept the battle. They hope for a guy, for his help, for the right advice, to the fact that he will lead the whole team through this whole nightmare.
Also, about the character of Naoi can say … his wifa. Yes, yes, I know that in the first person it was impossible to choose a waifa for myself, but a hypothetical girl could be. In addition, the game in the epilogue said that the further fate of Naoa was left at our discretion, leaving a place for speculation. And since I will affect the Waifa theme further, when considering the rest of the protagonists, then I will not do exceptions here. And so … In general, I won’t be dinked and I will say that Erico Kirishima is suitable for Naoi. And yes, perhaps knowledgeable people will say that these are poppies of Sonamura, and she herself fell in love with the hero, but that was the perfect poppy, generated by the consciousness of the real. Yes, in this case, inside it, perhaps, there is some kind of sympathy or even romantic feelings for nao, but I personally see only Erico. And what? They are very suitable for each other: both are a little not of this world, people with a rich inner world. Yes, and they look very good together. Plus, inside the game and, especially, manga, you can see hints of Erico’s feelings. What confirms the scene of memoirs in Persona2: Eternal Punishment, where it gives a promise, that when they meet again, he does not recognize her former Erico, because she will become better and more beautiful. And what can the choice of Naoi Erico say? And the fact that he has a taste)
This is how the first protagonist of the Persona series turned out. And here it cannot be said that the first pancake is lumpy. The hero turned out to be moderately bright, interesting, not devoid of highlights, both in appearance and in character. But here you still feel the uncertainty of the developers, and their misunderstanding, what should be the hero of Persona. After all, if you do it as in SMT, then you can clearly not go on it. But soon, the new protagonists of the persons will show their character to people. I also want to say that Naoi is my favorite protagonist of the series, immediately after the protagonist Persona4, but why, I can’t give an answer. Something in it is a special, some kind of aura, unsolved potential and the opportunity to look at the story of Naoi in a new way, although I understand that against the backdrop of the other protagonists of the series, it looks weakly (yes, Atlus, I very fatly hint at the remake of the first person … OneGai. )
Tatsuya Suu(Tatsuya Suou)
Next on the list we have Tatsuya Suou, protagonist Persona2: Innocent Sin. And I will immediately say that in comparison with the rest of the series protagonists, Tatsuya is less suitable for the third model of creating a character, since the protagonist makes a greater bias towards the second model, namely the elaboration of the background. Tatsui already has a strong background, which we learn throughout the game, he has a family with one of the members of which we can see, and play in Eternal Punishment. He has friends, and at the very beginning, when we can give any name to the hero (the game does not forbid us), Tatsuya Suou will already be written on the input screen, which is the canonical name of the guy. Also in Eternal Punishment, when Tatsuya ceases to be playable, he also ceases to be dumb, although in the last game he could only tell the demons “what does it mean to be a man” and made the sounds of the motorcycle engine. Now we hear pure speech from him, which adds surprise and easy frustration at the same time, because in the last game we tried to play our character, adding details to the biography of Tatsui, some special elements, but now in the continuation we already see someone else (and yes, since the Innocent Sini Eternal Punishmento, one game in two parts. I will consider Tatsy in conjunction from both games, as if “from this side” and “from the other side”).
And so, in order. Tatsuya Suou, who at the time of the game is 18 years old, study at the senior school of seven sisters, in the last year of study. He has brown hair, a “unique” hairstyle and brown eyes. Tatsuya is high – 181 cm, that a lot can be considered for Japan. In Innocent Sin, he wears the standard shape of seven black sisters with white stripes, and black sneakers. In Eternal Punishment, Tatsuya is dressed in a red motorcycle with a huge black cross in the middle. Also in the sequel on his right hand he has a tattoo received from Nyarlahotep. As in the last game, our hero call different characters differently, using various nicknames. For example, Lisa calls us Chinyan (“Lover”/“Darling”) (“dear, beloved”), in the Canton dialect, and Eikichi calls us Ta-chan, which makes Tatsui an even deeper character. As they say, a trifle, but nice.
As for the character, then there is a complete order. As I said, of all the characters of the series, Tatsuya is considered the most spelled out (immediately after the protagonist Persona5), not least due to the fact that in Eternal Punishmenton can speak. He has a reputation as a typical “bad guy” and extremely popular among his peers because of this, mainly among girls. Tatsuya is a strange, slightly shy wolf-single wolf who repels others, and he is very uncomfortable with people who constantly pursue him, or romantically, like Lisa Silverman, or as an “rival”, like Eikichi Mishina, because of the incident in the scarlet sanctuary, when the whole temple caught up with his childhood girlfriend Maya. Tatsui’s relations with the family are stretched; He envies and is hostile to his successful older brother Katsue, and despite all the efforts of the latter to take care of him, Tatsuya is ashamed of his disgraced father, a former policeman, whom he considers a coward, and was disappointed in his mother, who remained indifferent when her husband was fired and put behind the false accusations. But all this is an image that arose due to the aforementioned incident. In fact, until those unfortunate events, Tatsuya was a caring, proud, confident guy who could not just leave a person in trouble. There is a vague feeling in his heart that he wants to express his ideals to others, share them, as Maya did when they were children. However, Tatsuya does not know for sure what he wants from life, and most of his free time spends traveling on his motorcycle or in a car repair shop, striving for monetary independence from his family due to the shame of his father.
Tatsui also has certain habits and https://atlanticcity-casino.co.uk/bonus/ hobbies that define it as a character. For example, the guy has the habit of clicking on his zippo lighter, and in a variety of situations (damn it, after passing the Innocent sorted such a lighter so that she also clicked and enrage people, because I do not smoke). Tatsuya is also fond of tales, and he could often be seen to care for his motorcycle. Because of this, as well as because of temporary work in a car repair shop, a rumor spread out of the school of seven sisters and became a reality, giving the guy the opportunity to drive any transport. The guy paces in an unbuttoned jacket, with a disinterested look, from time to time clicking on his lighter. Tatsuya holds calmly, hiding in his hands in his pockets during a conversation, creating an aura of a cool guy. In Eternal Punishment, the character has not undergone changes, unless Tatsuya learned to speak. Many dialogues with him show the guy caring, smart and prudent, creating the impression that he is one step ahead of the main characters and always has a clear plan. I also want to note an interesting detail: in Innocent Sin, our friend, the future star of Rock Eikichi, will ask if we play the instrument, and it depends on our answer whether Tatsuya can play the guitar or not. If we answer yes, then during a conversation with demons you can play a trio: Aykichi soloist, jun on the keys, and Tatsuya on the guitar. Nice trifle, plus to play out my character.
Well, the most important thing that can be done with Tatsui’s “your version” is to choose a wifa for him, even though the choice does not affect … But he can affect the guide orientation. Hmm … who would have thought that back in 1999, the authors of Persona2 would be so advanced and provide for this. In general, yes, at one point you can choose a love interest to yourself. They may become Lisa Silverman, in love with Tatsya classmate, May Amano, “Elder Sister” for the whole company of friends or … childhood friend June Kuros. This choice, as I said, will affect anything, unless other characters will know with whom you have a relationship. Personally, I like Lisa Silverman, since she is an energetic, cheerful and cheerful girl, a future idol, and despite the rudiments of Yandere, Lisa is an interesting character, with her skeletons in the closet. And what can I say, with Tatsuya it looks very cool. May – a boring and fake character for my taste, but June … No, just not … and no, I’m not a homophobic.
Arkana at the guy under the number XIX – "Sun". The map means primarily joy, vitality and optimism, as well as successes in all endeavors. And at first glance it may seem that Tatsuya does not have these qualities, but this is far from the case. First, we see a serious, detached, even a little cold guy. But as the plot progresses, Tatsuya shows his caring and sensitive nature, as well as excellent leadership skills, he knows when to cheer up or set the brains. And although this is not visible, Tatsuya loves and appreciates life, just so far he does not know what to do with her and how to live. But no matter what obstacles he would throw his life, Tatsuya tries to act correctly, help people and protect his friends and relatives until the last. And as I already said originally, Tatsuya Suou is the most spelled out protagonist of the series, due to the presence of a background and the ability to speak, therefore, against the background of the rest of the main characters of Persona, Tatsuya is very distinguished, which still does not cancel the fact that the protagonist from the guy came out excellent.
Maya Amano(May Amano)
But the example of the hero, who turned out, to put it mildly, is not very. And I’m talking about the only one canonical female protagonist of the Mae Amano series. And remember, I said that the speaker Tatsuya in Eternal Punishment caused me bewilderment? The same thing happened with Maya, only on the contrary. Yes, in Innocent Sin, since she is not a protagonist of this story, she can say, and she shines with her character everywhere. Also, MAI, like Tatsui, has its own background, inextricably linked to the guy. Therefore, as well as Tatsuya Suhu, May Amano stands out against the background of the other heroes of the series, due to the study of the background. This is certainly not our character, but the character of which was given to us to win back, and therefore I sincerely do not understand why in Eternal Punishment she had to take her voice, because in fact, we already know what character the character, her story and participation in the plot. Damn, yes, the game even, for obvious reasons, does not allow us to choose the heroine name. And I’ll say right away that of all Persona protagonists, May is my most not beloved … And no, I’m not a chauvinist. In the course of the story you will understand why, but for now we will start from the beginning. The reporter of May Amano, whom her friends also call "older sister" or "sister of May", lives in the same city as Tatsuya. At the time of history, she is 23 years old (which makes her the most adult protagonist of the series), and growth is 168 cm. She also has a very unique outfit, which consists of two parts: a two -color brown jacket with pink hearts on … *khe *… breasts … and skirts with metal inserts with brown boots to knees.
“Let’s think positively!" – a motto in life, and the call of the MAI cannot be discouraged even in critical situations. We will often hear this phrase in the course of the first game, and, in general, she can characterize the heroine itself. She has unshakable, I would even say, inexhaustible optimism, although this changes a little in the Eternal Punishment. May – a cheerful and responsive person who is the heart of the team in the first game, constantly encouraging the guys, preventing them from losing their heads or lowering their hands. In the language of her body, an unnecessary mood is also traced, she walks easily and at ease (possibly even skipping, but it is difficult to say in pixels of those years). At the same time, she also has her own shortcomings-in a critical situation and she can fall in depression or succumb to fear, such as fear of fire, due to childhood injury, when May almost burned alive in a locked temple. Also in the Eternal Punishment, the girl becomes more serious, and at the same time sadly, because of the chaos of those around in the city. And you know, I believe more in depressive Maya than in an eternally cheerful and cheerful person. Many of her joyful emotions in the game look false and unnatural, but here it. Personally, I do not like it, albeit the continuation of this difficult story, May grew up as a character. Ironically, but the Eternal Punishmenton has a more interesting protagonist than in Innocent Sin. And all that was necessary to take away a voice. Well, okay.
Arkana in the girl hides under the number XVIII- "Moon". The map points us to a creative nature, some isolation in ourselves, light melancholy and internal anxieties, which can bring us to the idea that all this fun and positive are false and pronounced emotions. Perhaps in the Innocent Sin, the girl is being implemented, but already in Eternal Punishment it is already shown precisely the real May – a little thoughtful, slightly on her mind, with a bit of optimism. It’s very nice to watch such a character. It is also worth mentioning, not even a choice, but just a hint of a choice of Hazbendo in Eternal Punishment. Yes, in fact there is no choice, just sympathy by the Suou – Katsui and Tatsui brothers, and mutual. And as for me, despite the canon of Tatsuya X on May, the reporter is very suitable for our detective. And what? May with its cheerful and optimistic disposition, will dilute the serious and slightly pedantic character of Katsui, and they look very good together. And in general, for me, May, as I said, is such a character, and not because it is written badly, but because her character seems fake and far -fetched.
And summing up a certain intermediate line, I want to say that after the release of Persona2: Eternal Punishment, the series took a different development vector, while the approach to creating protagonists changed. Before that, we had three examples of varying degrees of study of the heroes: poorly registered Naoi, and with a rich past and voice Tatsuya with Maya. Now the protagonists have become a golden middle between these two examples, showing how to create deep, but at the same time “empty” main characters. But, as for me, Persona1 and 2 protagonists are undeservedly forgotten, and a sip of fresh air in the face of the remake would not have prevented them (yes, I again hint very fat).
Makoto Yuki (Makoto Yuki)
And here is our new protagonist Persona3 – Makoto Yuki. And yes, regarding the name (again): after the release of Persona3, the manga soon began to come out, in which our hero was called Minato Arisato, And after a couple of years, animation films began to be released in the amount of 4 pieces, where our protagonist is already responding to Makoto Yuki (Makoto Yuki). And according to the tradition of Athum, anime is considered a canon, therefore Makoto Yuki is considered official, which is confirmed by the spin-off of the Persona3 series: Dancing in MoonLight, where Makoto is the canon. And you know, this constantly causes bewilderment and frustration, when at the beginning everyone gets used to Minato, and then they tell us that everything is garbage, here is Makoto. Eh, I understand that the Atlus love to indulge with the names, but to mock fans is mean. Well, oh well (but I still like Minato more than Makoto).
The guy’s appearance is closed and cold, who says that the guy is still for all. Dark blue hair slightly disheveled in front, so that the bang closes the right eye, blue eyes and an ever-bored face. Makoto has a slight physique, growth below the average (170 cm), at the time of history he is 16 years old, and at the end there will be 17. Usually he is dressed in the uniform of a high school in a black -colored heckogan with blue boots. The guy is often portrayed with his hands hidden in his pockets (even when he runs), slightly leaning back, showing relaxation and disinterest in the events surrounding him. Makoto almost always listens to his headphones, which also indicates his isolation. The character’s design supports the atmosphere of neutrality, adhering to the traditions of Megami Tensei, where the player is more an independent character than playing the prescribed hero, but at the same time Makoto exudes composure and tranquility. Which is also explained by the plot – the guy is not at all afraid of death, he quite possibly does not even understand her concept. And everything is very simple – there is nothing to lose Makoto. He is an orphan, he has no friends and he is not interested in any material or spiritual values. This is the main feature of Makoto, because by and large he does not care about the world around him and people around him. These feelings and emotions (or rather the absence of them) were slightly hyperbolized in the anime of adaptation, where the protagonist and smiles rarely.
As in other parts of the series, Makoto is a silent protagonist who speaks only when he is asked or in battles. He is very persistent, calm and restrained, which remains so even in the most tense situations, for example, being a gun under a barrel. Even to the strangest things and situations, Makoto reacts as calmly as possible when he went to the hostel during a dark hour (well, you know, green sky, blood everywhere, people in coffins – nothing unusual). He looks very closed, detached and alienated, because he only listens to the conversations of his group members, and speaks only when someone asks him, expressing his point of view. His friend Yukari notes that nothing is unable to confuse him, and the class teacher Isaco Toriumi notes that Makoto is a quiet, but at the same time a mature young man, and that he always uses the correct grammar and punctuation, when communicating on the Internet. And his friend, Giunpe Iori comments that all that Makoto does is wandering around and talking to people. At the same time, many character traits will be based on the actions and decisions of the player, which is also facilitated by a new feature of the series – social ties (Social Links), who denote friends and acquaintances with whom Makoto formed a special connection attached to one of the Arcanch Rill in the Tarot deck. Makoto can be full of enthusiasm, optimism and kindness, if it uses its time to the maximum, starting as many social ties as possible. A guy can support or comfort his friend in difficult times. In the same way, the player can make Makoto pessimistic, hidden and lonely, who almost never communicates with his friends. These possible combinations of features give a wide range of various interpretations of his character, which is again important for waging a character. Also, Makoto can joke in some situations, though a little ironically or even “chernum”, which also indicates to us the nature of the introvert and a detached person.
I would also like to mention what I did not talk about in the stories about previous protagonists, but what can also bring us to the character of the character – weapons that they use in battle. It would seem, what a trifle, but nevertheless. Naoi used swords and semi -automatic rifles in battle, which could point us to leadership qualities and even the guy’s arcana – the “emperor”, and many kings and emperors usually possessed and were depicted precisely with swords. The same thing can be said about Tatsuya, however, in the second part of the additional weapons in the form of a firearm was not. All the characters had one weapon, whether it was swords or pistols, and Tatsuya just had swords. May got paired pistols, which for the most part indicates the fact that May is a girl (trite, I know, but still), and the girls usually do not enter into an open clash with the enemy. But Makoto’s case is much more interesting – a guy can own almost any kind of weapon met in the game, whether bows, swords or even metal gloves. This can tell us that Makoto is very adaptive not only in battle, but also outside of him, adjusting to the situation and developing the desired strategy, which in turn speaks of the high intelligence of the guy. At the same time, almost throughout the game, in Makoto there is no leader who gives orders or directs the team’s energy in the right direction. Typically, this function from a narrative point of view is performed by Mitsura, and we are rather the most powerful fighter in the group. Another feature of the game contributes to this, only in battle – not the ability to directly control the satellites. Of course, we can give general orders, by the type of “do what you want” or “focus on treatment”, but we can’t do anything directly, so we don’t have to talk about micro -management at the group level (yes, Mitsur, I about you … You always spent your move and SP on the empty use of Marin Karin … eh, I loved you).
Speaking of love. Since now the game and the series in particular are highly emphasized by timeage, to some extent the game began to resemble a dating simulator, where, depending on certain social ties, one could start an affair with one of many girls, and even just choose a weifom cute to the Waifa player. And starting with this part, disputes about the best waif became the norm. I don’t even want to supplement anything here … In general, there are a lot of girls, and some canon in a relationship or something close to it is not here. Yes, someone can say that with Aigis, a robot girl, Makoto has a rather warm relationship, but as for me, they are rather platonic than the rudiments of something serious (like Ichigo and Rukia from Blich, well, or like that) … and besides, she is a robot, therefore, without comments. Classmate Makoto and one of the most popular students of the Yukari Takoeba school, a computer genius and cute beznishka Fuuka Yamagishi, a beauty and heiress of a powerful corporation Mitsuru Kirijo, a member of the Studsovet Chihiro Fushey, a manager of one of the SKO NISHIVAKI and a somewhat repelled, but very positive assistant Igor Elizabeth. Here from such a set of completely different girls, we are allowed to choose. Although … I am a little crafty. I don’t know why, but in the game you can’t just be friends with the girls, and if you strive to complete their social connection completely, then they will all eventually fall in love with the hero, and Makoto, being indifferent, will not say anything against it. So it turns out that the protagonist Persona3 made himself the same harem. But personally, I like Msuru most of all, in a compartment with her intellect, beauty and very funny social connection, we get a very sweet girl who can execute Makoto if he somehow offends her.
The guy at number 0 is “jester”, and here it is worth clarifying that starting with this part all the characters of the series, the main arcana will be the jester, which usually symbolizes not only the person who is striving for the development and establishment of new acquaintances, but also the path that the protagonist has to go. A journey of 1 year long, for which there will be many events, both good and not very. In Arkan, the jester can see another symbolism to the conditional wager of the character – the number 0, the number of the Arcana usually means an empty place, which, however, can be filled with anything, as if the player fills the character prepared for him with his character. It is also worth noting that Makoto has another lasso at number XIX – “Death”, which is due to the plot of the game, but can also be suitable for descriptions of the guy. Death in the Tarot deck is rarely denoted by death as such, unless in an inverted position. Death means sharp, cardinal changes in human life, and that situation with a dark hour and persons, you can attribute to Makoto.
In general, the Persona3 protagonist turned out on the one hand a very spelled out, but with a slightly captured character, because of which you can without problems playing your character, giving him any name and endowing him with the chosen character, but also play Makoto, choosing an existing personality. And I will insert my five cents and say that I liked Makoto as an independent character, with my internal features, problems and experiences. And after the story about a guy with the headphones, I will have to tell you about the Aigis Robot girl, for whom we have to play in The Answer epilogue, but she does not fit her vote under a full-fledged protagonist of the series, and you can forget about the wig. Well, she is a nyashka.
Minako Arisato(Minako Arisato)
And the next protagonist, who is a big feature of the entire series, and which I really like, without any competition – and I’m talking about a female protagonist from Persona3 Portable. And then problems begin with the name-at least some, to the best of the canonical name, the heroine does not have, because she herself is considered non-canon. But the benefit of the Western fan community entrenched the more or less stable name Minako Arisato, by analogy with Minato, and in Japanese Hamuko. But something more official was given to our heroine-Koton Shiomi … True, this name was given to her in the Persona crossover with puzzle-head-headed Puzzle & Dragons … In short, I will just call her Minako-so familiar. Personamineo’s community causes absolutely different reaction: from love to fierce hatred (I personally love her very much, and I liked it more than Makoto). The reason is that the main theme of Persona3 is death, which also emphasizes the design and character of Makoto, but Minako is its complete opposite, both in appearance and in nature. She is kind, friendly and open, with pleasure enters into social ties with people she met. Minako brings heat to the world of Persona3, diluting all the gloom around her.
The main character has bright red eyes and brown hair, which she always collects in a high tail, as well as silver hairpins that form the Roman figure XXII, since the Arcana of the Jester denotes not only 0, but also 22, both the end of the jester and its new beginning (symbolism, all things). She is usually dressed in the female uniform of a high school of Gekogan, with characteristic headphones, like Makoto, which also refers to addiction to music by Minako. At the time of history she is also 16 years old, height 160 cm. At the same time, the same calm and cold -blooded girl no longer looks like her male analogue. Yes, she still does not lose her head in critical situations, but Minako does not behave removed, and in general she is more emotionally, which makes her image more independent. Is it bad? Personally, I think not. After all, so we can look at the story a little from a different angle, from the eyes of a more positive person. There is no need to talk about how the girl holds on to public, because due to the features of gameplay, we have no normal model. Rather, it is, but only in combat scenes where Minako owns a naginata, which suits a girl than swords, agree.
Despite his silence as a protagonist of the series, Minako has a more expressive character than Makoto. Yes, she is also silent, but unlike a bluish guy or other main characters of Megami Tensei as a whole, she is very cheerful and cheerful. Its dialogs demonstrate a wide range of emotions, starting from sarcasm, playful tone, and ending with absolute seriousness, which depend on the choice of the player. Minako sharply contrasts with Makoto, who is very restrained and in most situations will remain silent, on the other hand, the girl is not afraid to intervene in conversations and actively convey to those around her point of view. Many also note that it is reliable and persistent, as it should be to be a leader. This is also a very important difference from Makoto – Minako more corresponds to the role of the leader of the SEES than her male analogue. Although she, and it seems, is always in high spirits, the girl constantly hides her suffering, experiences, so everyone, mostly Giunpe Iori and Akihiko Sanada, are so worried about her. It is also shown through the dialogs that Minako is very worried and values his friends, and unlike Makoto’s friendship imposed, the girl sincerely wants to have many friends and always tries to make new ones. Another funny feature that some of its social ties noted is a passion for food – Minako eats a lot and does not get fat at all, which causes envy of other girls.
Minako’s Arcana is exactly the same as that of Makoto, or rather Arcana – “jester” and “death”, and their meaning and symbolism are absolutely the same, you should not stop here. But it is worth paying attention to something else, namely the girl’s social ties, which will also tell us something about her. In the original Persona3, Makoto could not create social ties with the guys from the SEES, which spoke about the closedness of the guy, and the stories of the male part of the team, their internal experiences remained unknown. But Minako, on the contrary, makes friendship with them, and recognizes them better. Yes, maybe even much better. I’m talking about choosing a hazbendo, which are not there, about 2.5 if it is precise. Minako can begin a romantic relationship with his Sempay popular school boxer Akihiko Sanada, a very cool and mysterious Schinjiro Aragaki Iiiii … youngster Ken Amada … something like that. And personally, Minako see me with Akihiko, they look very good together, the guy always strives to protect the girl from all troubles, and his social connection reveals the guy from the other side. But, as they say, each his own.
In general, as I said, I really liked Minako. She gave us a new game experience that is different from the previous one, and I sincerely feel sorry that the girl is not part of the canon, but at least she was added to Persona Q2, already something already. I still hope for a Persona3 remake with the possibility of choosing a protagonist sex, and a heroine model (I’m still not tired of hinting).
Yu Narukami(Soutords)
But, perhaps, my favorite protagonist of the whole series is the great and terrible souther. And also an explanation of the name (where without it): after the release of Persona4, anime adaptation and manga soon came out. In the first, the hero received a canonical yoke, and in the second – Sieus Seta. Since the manga was almost inconspicuous, and the anime, compared with the rest of Persona titles, came out soon, and therefore the name Yu in the person’s community took root very quickly, and there was no indignation, as it was with Makoto. The open, honest, straightforward and kind troll by the sir became the exact opposite not only in character, but also in appearance, gloomy and cold Makoto. The character, who, by analogy with Minako, gave a new game experience. Protagonist, for me personally, for whom it is very interesting to observe and associate myself with him. In some way, I try to go to the yu. But I run ahead.
At the beginning of the story by Yu Sux for 16 years, and he moves for a year from his native metropolis to the small town of Inba to his uncle, due to the fact that the guy’s parents left for work abroad. Yu has short silver hair (which in Japan are considered a rarity) and gray eyes, height 180 cm. Usually he is portrayed by the school uniform of a high school by Jasogami, and in the open character of the guy we are hinted by the fact that he is not fastened with a school uniform jacket, and on the shirt of the yu does not fasten all the buttons near the collar and on his sleeves (which is already indicated by his coolness). In general, all the clothes in the game tells us about the seriousness and maturity of Yu, where he gives preferences to the outfits of restrained tones and without any pretentiousness. Also, many friends and acquaintances themselves say that he looks and behaves older than his years. The yu holds on people in a peculiar way – when he just stands, the guy holds one hand on his belt, and the other just hangs freely, but she actively gestures, reinforcing his words. With all the usual neutrality, the guy has very individual character traits and abilities. English and a little French know the inscription, which speaks of intelligence and maturity yu. The guy also cooks perfectly, which confirms us the plot where he has prepared a delicious omelet, and the girls have cooked … more precisely, they created bio -weapons. Also, the good culinary abilities of the guy are due to one game feature – sometimes at home it will be possible to prepare lunch at a school at home, which could then be divided with a friend, strengthening the social connection with him. Of course, it was possible to establish with the ingredients and prepare bad dishes, well, it so happened that the UM creates culinary masterpieces, which was helped by anime adaptation, which expanded the nature and holistic image. And by the way, about him. (Yes, and also loves with shakles to collect the circuits of origami … I don’t know why, but it looks cool)
Soutor – an extrovert, unlike the introvert Makoto, and this is visible in almost everything. Like the rest, Yu is a silent protagonist, there is nothing surprising. His personality ultimately depends on the player’s actions and decisions, as befits a good wager, but at the same time dialogue options can be both very neutral and humorous, and sometimes even flirty or stupid acts and jokes. The open, and in a sense, the frivolous character of the guy allows you to arrange many people, and in general, he wants to be friends with people or just communicate, and tries to start as many social ties as possible. Also, an extrovert character is hinted at the inner voice of violents, filed through the description of objects and events, very different from Makoto. For example, when both hear the jingle of the transfer of President Tanaki, Yu describes him as a “funny song”, unlike Makoto, who describes him as an “annoying song”. Despite the fact that Uu has a strong moral compass, there are several options for dialogue that hint that the overshots can be the same asshole. In addition, although the game depicts him as a calm and decisive person, there are scenes that show that he has the limits of patience. For example, when the guys are thinking of killing Namatama or not, the hero can reassure, or rather, plug Yoske and the rest of the laconic “Calm the Hell Down!", Showing the rarely emerging aggressiveness. But here it is understandable, all the same, I thought with Sharki that he had lost his younger sister (oh no, spoilers …).
Arkana "Jester" is exactly the same as Makoto’s, and symbolism is the same. In general, nothing has changed here. Perhaps it is possible to Arkan "Jester", attribute to the fact that Yu is a real troll. Many answer options imply that the guy loves to make fun of the rest of the guys, and even over adults. Many characters noticed that with chips one of those rare species of people who could pronounce absolutely any nonsense with a stone face. He likes to joke and have fun, and he constantly enthusiastically approaches any event and just pastime with his friends. As for the weapon, Yu gives preferences to long swords, such as katans and branders. The guy plays the role of the leader of the investigative team 100%: when you need to send the team in the right direction, he will do it, if you need to calm it down, then the guy will immediately become the voice of reason and tranquility among the guys. The leadership of the UA of direct management of partners also contributes to the leadership qualities. Yes, of course, we can leave everything to AI, but real coherence in the team is achieved only under the direct control of the player.
Well, wifa, where it is already without them, also for every taste. Here we are a kid, a fan of meat and kung fu Chie Satonak, and a slightly beaten Japanese beauty with a peculiar sense of humor Yukiko Amaga, and the eternally not discouraged idol of Risa Kujikawa, and a girl dressed as a guy, young detective Naoto Shirogan. And also there are several additional from your school: the local bitch Aybihara, the clamped and the modest Ayan Matsunaga, and expressive Yumi Ozava. And here, oh the glory of Izanagi, you can only be friends with girls and still end their social connection. Of course, to be an asshole-change game does not prohibit us … The case of everyone, as they say. Some canon in a relationship here, as in Persona3, no. Whoever you want, that is the romance. And for me personally it is and will be Nuto. Yes, it may seem trite, but it is truly beautiful. A wonderful figure, an excellent mind, attractive character, social connection giving us a great feeling of the girl’s internal problems (in fact, all the social ties of our companions are very good), make a favorite number 1 out of her … And how they look with Yu … mmmmmmmm ..
In general, here he is, protagonist Persona4. He gave us a new experience of the game, not gloomy and dark, but bright and kind. Although we are free to play the hero what we want, Uu has a bright and attractive personality, which is simply pleasant to observe. No, he is not perfect, in no case, but his character, or person, gives hope and faith in good people. As I already said, by Yu Oski – my favorite protagonist of the Persona series, and in some way a model for imitation (damn it, even after passing, I began to collect exactly the same cranes from paper everywhere … Some people who I left such a crane thought that I want to kill them …)).
Joker, Ren Amamiya (Joker, Ren Amama)
But, perhaps, the most famous, charismatic and last protagonist of the series today is the Joker. And here it is worth explaining again about the name of the protagonist (yes, I know that I am already tired): in the manga, soon the protagonist, Akira Kurusa is called, and in the anime of adaptation, according to the tradition of canonical, – Ren Amama, which will be further used in other media. At the same time, REN is a participant and leader of the phantom thieves, where he has a code name – Joker. Hidden and depressed outwardly, but with furious fire of the uprising inside, Ren became the most memorable protagonist of the Persona series, not least due to the fact that only with the release of Persona5 the series gained well-deserved popularity in many parts of the world. Moreover, the hero became more talkative, compared to other protagonists, I speak not only in battle, but also about the anime inserts in which the past protagonists only sighed – now we can hear a couple of dropped phrases from Ren. One dramatic and pathos appearance of Joker please.
Ren Amamami, a young guy for 16 years at the beginning of history, arrives in Tokyo, since he had to move, as a trial period. The fact is that before the start of the main plot, Ren stood up for an unfamiliar girl, whom a certain bald man tried to rape. Inaccurately dropping him on the asphalt, the Joker received a criminal record, and it did not work out, because the bald man turned out to be an influential politician, so he sucked the guy, and the fair trial did not have to wait. And here he is in Tokyo, lives in the attic of a coffee shop, which is owned by a grumpy man, and by a happily coincidence he is familiar to Ren’s parents, and therefore agreed to shelter the guy for his money. So we live. Joker has a little black hair and dark gray eyes, height 175 cm. A feature in appearance are glasses that Ren is hiding in public, because these glasses are not real – the guy has everything good from view. With glasses, Ren creates the image of an obedient and unremarkable person. Shujin Joker also wears his form of high school so that no questions arise-the jacket is always fastened, the form is in perfect condition without any unnecessary symbols. In his daily clothes, there is also a desire to mix with the crowd: a jacket and ordinary jeans, well, or a white shirt. All this shows that the guy does not want, in his position, to attract excess attention and seeks not to stand out. In gestures and gait, the same can be seen – Ren rarely in public when he smiles, holds his hands in his pockets or crossed on his chest. In society, no one will suspect a diviant and rebel in it. But in the Joker meta -bell, dresses very stylishly, and by this clothing we can already talk about the real character of the protagonist. A stylish long raincoat with a high collar, tall boots, red thieves’ gloves and a mask from the Venetian Mascarad Ballah create an image of a arrogant, show-off, charismatic and stylish person. Thief. Antihero, if you like.
Ren turned out to be very charismatic, not only in appearance, but also by nature. He is cruel, arrogant, very cunning, hypocritical, with a stinging sense of humor. Add here the fact that he wants to achieve revenge and justice in response to the actions of a society that spreads rot not only other people, but Rena himself. Although he does not show this, but inside the guy is very embittered, and he began to remove all this anger on the shadows in the meta -freeness, and on the dark naturals of the main bosses (eh, if so …). Yes, the hero is silent (it could not be otherwise) and many character traits are left to the player’s rang, but still there are many personal characteristics in Rena, much more than past protagonists. The options for answers vary from a few indifferent to frankly daring. Often, many joking, ulcerative answers turning into frank mockery will be available to us. Many of his features borrowed from his person, or rather, from the literary person on which was the basis of the person Rena-Arsen Lupen, a thief-gentleman. Like him, Joker, behaves brazenly, cunningly and hypocritically, respects equal in strength, and is arrogant in relation to the rest. And also Arsen, like the actor actually, loves beautiful ladies, who brings us very close to the Vaifa theme, but while it should be postponed for a short while. Rena also has a tendency to behave showant, show off and make dramatic decisions, for example, when he jumps out of the casino window in the gear. Many characters notes the protagonist many different character traits. So, for example, our teacher Kavakaki notes an extremely strong sense of justice, and Soizhiro says that the hero has an assertive and confident nature that the rest only confirm. Hifumi notes Ren’s “gambling”, and Ryuji states that if the Joker made a decision, he will not convince him. Akechi says that, although the main character is silent, he has the courage and determination to act, as well as his free heart, despite his social status and that he will never stop choosing his own path. In appearance, as we already understood, Ren is a quiet and well -mannered young man, who is a cover of his rebellious character. He steadfastly withstands the entire stream of criticism directed to him, whether it be his enemies, ill -wishers or even anonymous on the website of the phantom thieves.
Joker also has a “jester” Arcana, and there is no new meaning or symbolism specifically for Ren, there is no. Yes, of course, he is like a joker, and the jester looks like a Joker, well, it’s already so … Little things. Perhaps the jester, in the form of the ability of Wild Card (unpredictable card), a numerous change of person, that is, masks, to the battle, and not him, which tells us about the hypocriticality of the character. The guy’s relationship with people can be traced in the name of social ties, which are now called “Troubled Persons”. This tells us that Ren wants to be friends with people not just because, but in order to extract some benefits from communication with people. In battle, Ren prefers to use pistols and long daggers, which sends us to the thieves’ nature of Joker. Yes, he is the leader of the phantom thieves, and gives orders, decides when to go to the meta -fate and the like. But at the same time, REN is more like the leader of the team of superheroes who save the world, but to the head of the thieves guild, which cunning, dexter. His mind is comparable to tactics and strategists who can quickly come up with a cunning plan, and the natural observation of the guy allows him to notice, it would seem, insignificant things.
Well, traditionally, weifa … There are so many of them in this game that you can involuntarily get confused. Even just list it will be a long and useless occupation. So I will just tell you about my favorite. Yes, there are two of them-because of so many, I liked two specific girls. Of course, the rest are also cute, and you can argue for a long time and uselessly about the best weifa. While all sorts of repulsed fans were divided into camps and Makoto, I was quietly away from any rabble, I admired my sweet girls: the owner of a small private clinic Taea Taea and the player in the shogi of Hifumi that. Yes, I am well aware that by the nature of Ren they are not very suitable, but personally, for me, as a player, these are girls – the best choice. Is it not this charm of the protagonists of the persons – elections that make us those who are we are. Tae – has already seen a lot in life (mostly bad), with a Gothic appearance and light sadistic inclinations, she will definitely make her experimental pigs from Ren. Hifumi – a slightly beaten (in a good way) girl of model appearance turned on shogs, but do not let this image deceive herself, because she is an excellent strategist and tactics. And also, I think she loves Jojo. And moreover, the skills obtained during their personal stories are one of the most useful in the game. Well, how can you not love them here?
